Review of Discussion on Nuclear Economics and Renewable Energy

David Bacon, a consultant for renewable energy, gave a presentation at the NMMI Pearson Auditorium on June 28, 2007.  Between 40 and 50 people attended.  There are two topics that linger in my mind related to this event.  First is the topic of the potential Southeastern New Mexico has with renewable energy.  Second is something Mike Marley told me after the meeting was over.

SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO'S POTENTIAL WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY

David Bacon described a decentralized system that would make it possible for us to produce all of our electricity with wind, solar, and bio-fuels.  We had a good discussion about how lucrative this could be for the people living in Southeastern New Mexico (10 times to the jobs that the nuclear industry could provide), without the inevitable disastrous impact of a nuclear waste reprocessing plant and nuclear waste burner reactor.

MIKE MARLEY'S STATEMENT

I have been advised to save this statement for the courtroom, in case the issue comes up.

If you hear a wave file playing, it is an interview that was conducted in the morning after this event by Mike Jaxson, News Director, KSVP-KTZA-KPZE-KEND RADIO ARTESIA-ROSWELL-CARLSBAD.
