INTRODUCTION TO THE CRIMES OF GLCC (CHEMTURA) |
|
| Managers, corporate officials, and board directors of Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (GLCC) broke the law and lied about it, routinely, for 40 years. This resulted in sickness and death for many uninformed human beings. They murdered my father. They merged with Crompton , which changed GLCC's name to “Chemtura.” The name change doesn't change the liability. |
Lawrence Edward Andrews lied to the US EPA Region 6, and to all whom have expected its services for 17 years. He lied to the Disciplinary Board. He lied to the Inspector General as he swore under penalty of perjury that his written statement was "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." |

My dad, Coach Joe McKinnon, spent most of his life building a camp for kids. Hundreds of kids enjoyed this camp. If you went to this camp with my dad, if you went to this camp with me, or if you have lived along the southern border of Great Lakes Chemical (CHEMTURA) Corporation - Central Plant (GLCC-Central) about 3 miles southwest of El Dorado, Arkansas, please call me at (505) 627-3391.
A book about the crimes of GLCC (Chemtura) should be available for all concerned to read sometime between 2010 and 2012.

| I
believe that government officials are fully aware of the sinister crimes
of GLCC (Chemtura) regardless of whether or not I publish
information on this web site. Some folks in our government get paid
tax dollars to deal with lowlife, murdering, criminals. So far, it seems
like they are being paid more to do nothing about these crimes than they
are being paid to deal with them. According
to a close friend of mine, I have put enough on my web site, except for
some sampling results that should be coming from the EPA. Now that
the tip of the iceberg is published, it is time for me to
write the book. I will
leave what I have already published about the crimes of GLCC (Chemtura) on
this web site with hope that ethics, truth, real science, human life, and justice will become more
important than whatever has been gained by allowing managers, corporate
officials, and board directors of GLCC (Chemtura) to flagrantly defy the
law while injuring and killing many uninformed human beings, August 28, 2005.
Illegal dumping, illegal air releases, and the poison in the air and water around GLCC-Central haven't changed much since the mid 1970s. Our government may tell you that it is cleaned up, and that everything is under control, but that is only because our government isn't looking or doing anything about it. Your health, or the health of someone you know, may be unexpectedly affected by this. The EPA took some core samples from the Camp Pond Sediment in July 1977. Analysis of these core samples shows detection of Tetrabromobisphenol A at 300 ug/Kg. I submitted a FOIA request for the rest of the lab results from these core samples, and will publish them when I receive them. |

The EPA found some GLCC related
chemicals in air samples taken in 1977 from the top of the Parkers
Chapel Water Tower (Parkers Chapel Water Well #1) shown in the photo
to your left. The results of this sampling analysis include the
following:
Air sample taken between 1425 hour on 3/5/77 and 1625 hour on 3/6/77 shows detection of
Ethylene dibromide at 700 ng/m3. Air sample taken between 1650 hour on 3/5/77 and 1700 hour on 3/6/77 shows detection of 1-chloro-2-bromoethane at 2,520 ng/m3. Air sample taken between 1700 hour on 3/6/77 and 1840 hour on 3/7/77 shows detection of 1-chloro-2-bromoethane at 4,200 ng/m3.

Air sample taken between 1802 hour on 3/9/77 and 1620 hour on 3/10/77 shows detection of dibromopropane at 560 ng/m3. Air sample taken between 1855 hour on 3/16/77 and 1630 hour on 3/17/77 shows detection of 1-chloro-2-bromoethane at 700
ng/m3. Ambient Air Sampled on Top of Parkers Chapel Water Tower on 9/24/76 and 9/25/76 Other
Ambient Air Sampled on Top of Parkers Chapel Water Tower The 1977 Camp Pond sediment and air sampling data was not made available to me by the EPA. I received the EPA report containing the data from these samples in 2002 from a man who took part in taking them. He explained that there is a lot more information that has already been sealed. There are some good people who work for GLCC, but several GLCC official employees should be behind bars, and that still wouldn't be complete justice. These official employees have been driven by GLCC's philosophy designed by the CEOs and Directors. It is the CEOs and Directors of GLCC who made the ultimate decisions that caused the kids at the Pathfinders Camp to swim and sleep in poison. State and federal environmental and health agencies, and justice departments have played a part in hiding this information from you. GLCC managers, corporate officials, and board directors broke several laws - including false reporting to state and federal government agencies, and concealment of state and federal crimes - resulting in horrific injuries and/or premature deaths of my grandparents, my father, many of my relatives, many of my friends and neighbors, more than 500 kids from Roswell, several thousand Americans living near this chemical plant, and me. GLCC has poisoned some of the most beautiful land in America, including my summer home. GLCC also financially motivated some young men to work very hard at damaging the buildings on my summer home. GLCC buried thousands of barrels, cylinders, and drums of corrosive poisons which have leaked into the groundwater which has been flowing south into the Pathfinders Camp Pond for several years. If you swam in the Camp Pond, I have no doubt that you were swimming in poison. According to documents at the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), and documents at the Region 6 Environmental Protection Agency (Region 6 EPA), there have been thousands of drums (containing poison) buried and leaking into the groundwater, as well as many leaking landfills, leaking ponds, bursting pipes, and releases of poison into the air. This has been going on since 1965 with little care about who GLCC has been hurting. To go along with all of this, GLCC has been injecting poison into the groundwater that flows south, which has also obviously contributed to the poison flowing from this chemical plant into the spring fed Camp Pond. This is not just a small amount of poison, but millions and millions of pounds; enough to fill many long train loads annually. Then, there is the graben fault that runs through the chemical plant. The shallow and deep well injection of several million pounds of toxic fluid should be of a great concern to folks living throughout South Arkansas, and who knows how far below the Louisiana line. Some of this injected toxic fluid is identified, but a good bit of it isn't identified; and most of it is deadly. No telling where it will pop up. GLCC has disregarded laws and regulations, while obviously knowing they have been and continue poisoning us. Several directors and managers of GLCC have put forth great effort to keep the public uninformed. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has thousands of employees. A few of these employees have worked very hard not to do anything about the crimes of GLCC. Employees at the ADEQ have expressed fear of loosing their jobs if they do anything about these crimes. Klain Garriga of the Region 6 EPA Criminal Investigation Division has even bragged about his ability to do absolutely nothing about the crimes of GLCC, as he has shown me how he can make sure that he doesn't have to do anything. His ability to do absolutely nothing for his pay check funded by our tax dollars is impressive, but a bit scary. He has obviously had a lot of practice at avoiding work. I wonder how much he gets paid for doing absolutely nothing, and wonder if his only paycheck comes from our tax dollars. Klain plays a role of lacking the ability to think logically, lacking thinking skills or intellectual abilities, but considering how good he is at doing absolutely nothing while being paid a directors salary for running a federal program gives me reason to believe that he is quite capable of understanding a good bit more than he admits he understands. Klain Garriga isn't the only government employee who has demonstrated ability to do absolutely nothing while receiving paychecks coming from our tax dollars, but he is the most impressive so far.
