EMAIL COMMUNICATION WITH MIKE FARRELL ABOUT MY PREPARATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT TO THE US DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

Mr. McKinnon,

While I have no personal knowledge of your immediate situation or
either the tone of or the justification for the public comment you
will be submitting to the DOE, I oppose the use and further
development of nuclear energy until and unless a safe way is developed
to detoxify (rather than hide away) the dangerous waste it creates.
An industry that uses a technology which creates waste that they
cannot safely dispose of and that is poisonous to human life for
hundreds of thousands of years is technology run amuck and may qualify
as the definition of either greed or insanity.

With that understanding, I have no problem with being listed as a cc
on your message.

Mike,

As I reflect on when I was a teenager and a young adult, some of my fondest memories of my relationship with my father were when he and I spent an hour each night watching MASH.

This morning, as I have been preparing to submit public comment to the US
Department of Energy regarding the threat they have posed on my family and my home, along with the same for all whom live within fallout range of a
proposed nuclear waste reprocessing plant and nuclear incinerator, you were on C Span.  By your dialogue, today, I feel like you would be cognitively sensitive to the seriousness of the matter that is in front of me.

I have found that the only way government agencies will respond to me is
when I have an extremely long Cc list on emails.  I learned this as I have
been dealing with a large chemical company that poisoned a summer camp that my family owned.  I spent the past 5 years communicating with government agencies regarding the poisoned summer camp.  About all that I think was accomplished by my efforts was that it added to the fuel that federal government scientists have as they have recently been expressing their desire to publish real science with the Oversight Committee for Government Reform listening to them.

On March 5, 2007, I found out about the DOE project.  I have since been
working on nothing else but trying to stop them from forcing me to move far
away from my home.

The reason I am telling you about this is that during the next few days I
will be submitting my public comment to the DOE regarding my concern about their project, and believe that having your email address will be a good addition to my Cc list.  If you have a problem with me having your email address on these messages, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Frank McKinnon
